Workplace instructions

Workplace instruction cards: clear safety guidance where the work happens

A workplace instruction card brings the right safety information to the people working with the substance — hazards, protective equipment, and first aid, at a glance. With Chemspark you create them easily, post them at the workstation, and your team opens them via a QR code.

The basics

What is a workplace instruction card?

A workplace instruction card is a short, clear card posted at the workstation that shows, per hazardous substance, what a worker needs to know: the main hazards, the required personal protective equipment, the steps for safe use, and what to do in an incident. It is the last link between your risk assessment and the shop floor — and often the first thing a labour inspector asks to see. In the Netherlands these are called werkplekinstructiekaarten (WIK).

Why it matters

Why workplace instruction cards matter

Occupational health law expects workers to be instructed about the hazards of the substances they work with. A risk assessment in a system only helps once that information actually reaches the shop floor. Workplace instruction cards translate your assessment into clear, understandable guidance at the place where the work happens — for everyone, in their own language.
