Suppliers
Suppliers is the list of contact details of the organisation's suppliers. Every location uses the same list. The e-mail address shown here is where an SDS request is addressed.
For: Users · Admins
What is on the page
One row per supplier with Supplier, E-mail address, Phone, Products and SDSs to renew. Clicking a column header sorts the list. Above the list it says which suppliers are shown: with a location selected, the suppliers of products at that location; with All locations, every supplier of the organisation.
- Products: how many products from this supplier are in the register.
- SDSs to renew: how many products from this supplier are on SDS updates. The link opens SDS updates, already filtered on this supplier.
- E-mail missing: without an e-mail address Chemspark cannot prepare a request. Add the address.
What you can do
- Add Supplier: Company Name and Email are required, Phone is not. A company name can occur only once in the organisation.
- Edit: the pencil at the end of a row opens 'Edit Supplier', with the contact details.
- Filters: Only with SDSs to renew, Only without e-mail address or Only without products.
- Delete: only when no product uses the supplier. If the supplier belongs to earlier SDS versions, it stays; edit its details instead.
- When an SDS is uploaded, Chemspark links the product to a supplier from this list, or adds the supplier.
E-mail to suppliers
Chemspark itself sends no e-mail to suppliers. A request from SDS updates opens a ready-made letter in your own e-mail program, addressed to the address on this page. Sending happens there, from your own address.
Typical tasks
- Adding a missing e-mail address: choose Filters and tick Only without e-mail address.
- Click the pencil next to the supplier to open 'Edit Supplier'.
- Enter the e-mail address and click Update.
- From SDS updates, the 'Add it under Suppliers' link goes straight to the right supplier.
- Tidying up: tick Only without products; an admin can delete those suppliers.
- Requesting SDSs from a supplier happens on SDS updates. See 'Keeping SDSs current'.
Who can do what
Everyone in the organisation can add and edit suppliers. Only an admin can delete one.

Workflow
Keeping SDSs current: SDS updates and suppliers
Chemspark warns when an SDS has expired, expires soon or has no date. SDS updates lists those products per supplier, ready to request a new version or to record that the current SDS is still current.
Page
SDS updates
SDS updates shows the products whose SDS has expired, expires soon or has no date. Chemspark warns and prepares the request; requesting and uploading the new version is up to the organisation. A product leaves the list once there is a current SDS, or once someone records that the current SDS is still current.
Workflow
Uploading SDSs
Every product in Chemspark starts with an SDS. Upload one SDS or several at once: Chemspark reads the SDS and fills the inventory, with no retyping.
