Page
GHS Labels
This page prints GHS labels for use at the workplace, for example for a spray bottle or a bottle a product has been decanted into. The label takes over the supplier's classification from the SDS.
For: Users · Admins
What is on this page
- On the left, "Select Products": a search box, "Select All" and per product a tick box and the number of copies.
- On the right, "Label Settings", the "Print Labels" button with the number of labels, and below it a preview with the number of A4 pages.
What is on the label
- Product name, hazard pictograms and signal word.
- The H, EUH and P statements in the official wording, in the language of the app: Dutch or English.
- The supplier's name and phone number.
- Optionally a QR code that opens the product in Chemspark; that needs an account.
- For a kit, each part gets its own label.
Label Settings
- Label Size: 74mm × 105mm, 105mm × 74mm, 105mm × 148mm or 148mm × 210mm.
- Labels per Page: 1 (Full size), 2, 4, 6 or 9 per A4. With more labels per page they can come out smaller than the chosen size; the page says so.
- QR code on label on or off.
When the label is tight
When space is short, Chemspark leaves out the least critical P statements and the label says "See the safety data sheet for additional precautionary statements". The notice "Label size is tight" names the products this applies to. If it still does not fit, the notice names the products that need full size or a larger label. What the preview shows is what prints.
Printing
- Select the products and the number per product.
- Choose the size and the number per page, and check the preview.
- Click "Print Labels". The browser's print window opens; it can also save as PDF. Turn off "Headers & footers" for a clean label.
If nothing opens, allow pop-ups for Chemspark. During a trial, printing is locked; it opens up with a paid plan.
What the label is for
The label follows the CLP classification the supplier gives in the SDS. It is meant for containers at your own workplace, not for placing a product on the market. When a new SDS changes something that is on the label, "What needs updating" at the product in the inventory says the label needs reprinting.
Who can do what
- User: prints labels for the products of their own location.
- Admin: the same for every location of the organisation.

Workflow
Printing GHS labels
A GHS label for use in the workplace, for example on a spray bottle or a bottle a product is decanted into. Chemspark builds the label from the SDS data; the supplier's classification stays leading.
Workflow
Processing a new SDS
When a supplier sends a new SDS, replace the old one. Chemspark first shows what changes and which assessments, workplace cards and labels no longer match because of it.
Page
Product page
The product page shows everything Chemspark read from the SDS of one product, in the order of the SDS. This is where data is checked and corrected, the SDS is replaced, and where you see what has been done with the product: risk assessment and workplace cards.
Page
Kit page
The kit page shows the parts of a kit side by side, such as a resin and a hardener. Chemspark saves each part as a product of its own; this page is the overview.
Page
Workplace cards
A workplace instruction card tells employees on one A4 page what they need to know about a product: the hazards, the protective equipment, safe handling and what to do if something goes wrong. On this page cards are made, tracked and reviewed on time.
