Settings
Settings has three blocks: My account (only for the user themselves), Organisation (applies to everyone in the organisation) and Subscription.
For: Users · Admins
My account
- Name: your name is shown with your work, for example with recorded measures. The Logbook shows the e-mail address.
- Email Address: after Change, Chemspark sends a confirmation link to the new address. The new address only applies after that confirmation.
- Password: set a new password.
- Set up notifications: opens the Notification Preferences, with per type, per list and (for an admin) per location which notifications come in.
Organisation
These settings apply to everyone in the organisation. Everyone can see them; only an admin can change them.
- The organisation's Company Name. If it needs to change, contact Chemspark through Help & feedback. An admin also sees the Manage team and locations link here, to Admin.
- SDS Expiry Period: how many years after the revision date an SDS counts as expired, 1 to 5 years.
- Early warning: how many days before expiry everyone gets the 'SDS expires soon' notification, 30 to 180 days.
- Workplace card needed from: per hazard from the register (Health, Fire & explosion, Environment) From High, Very high only or No. This decides for which products Chemspark asks for a workplace card. A card can always be made, for other products too.
Subscription
This shows the current subscription and the number of products of the whole organisation against the maximum. Upgrading goes through Contact us to upgrade, which opens a window to e-mail Chemspark, where the address can also be copied. What each subscription allows:
- Starter (free): 5 products, 1 location and 1 user, and 10 SDS reads in total.
- Essential: up to 100 products, 1 location.
- Professional: up to 250 products, up to 3 locations. The 250 products count for the whole organisation together.
- Business: up to 1,000 products, unlimited locations.
- Enterprise: custom.
- Essential, Professional and Business have unlimited users.
Typical tasks
- Deciding when SDSs appear on SDS updates: set the SDS Expiry Period and the Early warning. See 'Keeping SDSs current'.
- Deciding which products need a workplace card: set Workplace card needed from. See 'Making workplace cards'.
- Adding colleagues or creating a location: through Manage team and locations. See 'Managing team and locations'.
Who can do what
Every user changes their own My account. Only an admin changes the Organisation settings; a user sees them with the note 'only an admin can change this'.

Workflow
Managing team and locations
An admin sets up the organisation: locations, departments and users. This is done under Admin in the menu, or via Settings › 'Manage team and locations'.
Workflow
Keeping SDSs current: SDS updates and suppliers
Chemspark warns when an SDS has expired, expires soon or has no date. SDS updates lists those products per supplier, ready to request a new version or to record that the current SDS is still current.
Workflow
Making workplace cards
A workplace instruction card shows per product what workers need to know at the workplace. Chemspark drafts it from the SDS and the recorded measures; then someone reads the card, saves it and posts it.

Notifications
Notifications collects what needs attention: an SDS that expires, a high risk without a measure, a product on a regulatory or custom list, and more. Notifications live in the app, under the bell at the top; Chemspark does not send them by e-mail. The page opens from the bell, with View all notifications.
Page
Admin: team and locations
Admin is the admin's page: it holds the organisation, the locations with their departments, and the users. Only an admin sees Admin in the menu, under Manage.
