Compliance
The Compliance Monitoring page (in the menu: Compliance) shows which products contain a substance on a legal list, or on a list of the organisation's own. One overview shows where extra duties or extra attention apply.
For: Users · Admins
What is on this page
- At the top, per list, the number of products: CMR, SVHC, Auth (REACH authorisation), Restr (REACH restriction), ZZS, SZW and CMR registration.
- On the left the filters, on the right a search box and the table with only the products that are on at least one list.
- Per product: Product Name, Location / Department, the Compliance Flags and the Flagged Component, meaning which substance in the product triggers the flag.
The lists
- European lists: CMR substances (carcinogenic, mutagenic or toxic to reproduction, recognised from the H-statements), the SVHC list, REACH Authorization and REACH Restrictions.
- Netherlands: the ZZS list, the SZW list (with the category, such as C, M or R) and CMR registration: whether the product falls under the registration duty of the Dutch Working Conditions Decree (Arbobesluit), or under the limited registration.
- Custom Lists: lists the organisation adds itself, for example a sector agreement, a customer's requirements or an in-house ban list.
Chemspark compares the substances in the composition of the SDS, by CAS or EC number, with the lists. The check always uses the product's current data, so also after editing or after a new SDS.
Filter, search and sort
- Tick one or more lists in the filter column to see only those products; "All lists" shows everything.
- Search by product name, CAS number or component name.
- "Sort By": Product Name, Location or Number of Flags.
- The filter column can be shown or hidden with the button next to the search box.
Custom Lists
- Click "Manage Custom Lists" and choose "Create List": give it a name and, optionally, a description.
- Upload an Excel file (.xlsx, .xls) or CSV with a column of CAS numbers to the list. Name, EC number and notes are optional. "Download Template (CSV)" gives an example.
- The products are checked against the list right away. The list appears in the filter column under Custom Lists.
On a new upload, "Replace existing substances" can empty the list first. Deleting a list cannot be undone.
What Chemspark does and does not do
This page flags; the decision stays with the organisation, such as substituting, checking an authorisation or completing the CMR registration. When an update of a legal list puts a substance from the inventory on that list, a notification follows in Chemspark. The check relies on the CAS and EC numbers as printed in the SDS.
Typical tasks
- Filter on CMR registration and answer the CMR registration questions per product in Risk assessment.
- Add a customer list or sector agreement as a custom list and see which products are on it.
- For an overview to keep or share: the quick reports in Reports, such as the CMR register.
Who can do what
- User: sees the products of their own location and can create and upload custom lists; those apply to the whole organisation.
- Admin: the same, and under "All locations" sees the products of every location, with the location shown.

Workflow
Compliance and the CMR registration
Compliance shows which products contain a substance on a regulatory list. For carcinogenic, mutagenic and reprotoxic substances, Chemspark also helps with the registration the Dutch Working Conditions Decree (Arbobesluit) requires.
Workflow
Reading the inventory
The Inventory is the location's chemical register: every product with its hazards, the status of its risk assessment and its storage. It has two tabs: 'Hazard & Risk' and 'Storage'.
Workflow
Reports and the Logbook
Reports turns the organisation's data into an overview you can export as CSV or PDF. The Logbook records who changed what, and when; every entry is kept for 5 years.
Page
Inventory
The inventory (page heading "Chemical Inventory") is the register of hazardous substances of a location: one row per product, with the hazards of the product itself, the risks of working with it and what still needs doing. This is also where new SDSs come in.
Page
Risk assessment
On this page every product moves from screening to a finished assessment. The page has two views: the worklist with all products, and the assessment of one product with a tab per route.
